Moving Towards Spring
Greetings everyone, I hope your holidays were filled with joy. As we move forward into spring, the City of Deming has several projects that will run through the summer months Our priority will continue to be street repair but several other projects will be taking place concurrently. The public will be kept informed of these projects via the Deming Headlight, Facebook and radio announcements.
Our community has received much needed moisture in the form of rain, the tradeoff is the creation of potholes. We have heard your concerns and plans are in the works to address the issue, currently we are hiring additional personnel that will be dedicated solely to this task.
Poly Carts are now available to the community in lieu of utilizing a dumpster. For more information about this new program contact City Hall and inquire about the process to sign up for your cart. It should also be noted that there is no additional fee to utilize the Poly Cart service. The reviews from current users have been positive and we expect that soon more citizens will be participating in the program.
We have recently moved our code enforcement personnel under the supervision of the Police Department. This allows us to have better communication between officers and code enforcement and a better mechanism of tracking and ensuring your concerns are addressed in a timely fashion. If you notice any code violations, please call the Police Department at 546-3011.
I have heard many concerns over what City Hall is doing for this community, concerns about issues that exist in our community, Street and Road conditions, etc. As always, I invite you to attend our monthly City Council meetings and address these concerns with all of your elected officials and staff. In addition, please feel free to contact City Hall and request a meeting with the appropriate staff members.
